Do you think it's lame to wear a helmet when you go snowboarding ?

I was skiing at Jackson Hole (cool hardcore resort) and I reckon more than half the hot boarders and skiers there were wearing helmets. If your mates are not wearing helmets they are behind the times, and uncool. Lead those guys into the 21st century, and be the first. It is possible that they are all sitting in their scared weird little "am I cool" headspaces, and secretly want to wear helmets but are too scared to be first.

protecting yourself isnt lame. thats called being smart. Whats lame is some freaking bad injury cuz you didnt use your brain. I heard that some kid died cuz he hit his head on a big rock. He wasnt wearing a helmet and the rock really messed up his head.

I honestly think some girls look pretty cute with helmets on. Just get a cool looking one. The only way i can see a helmet not being a good thing is if you're doing stuff that's way below your skill level on the mountain, and honestly..what's the fun in that? hope this helped :)

No. I certainly don't think it's lame, and if anyone else does, they can kiss my ***. Then again....the places I go, alot of people do wear helmets so I don't feel out of place. I've had my helmet for quite a few years now and it's all scratched up. I'm glad it's my helmet that's messed up and not my head.

What's really lame is a Traumatic Brain Injury that could have been prevented. There's the possible coma, probable loss of memory, probable difficulty controlling emotions, probable speech/occupation and/or physical therapy and the remainder of a life where seizures are a possibilty at any given time. And that's the easy stuff. Source: Son suffered TBI & had/has all of the above. And,oh, yeah - possible death...

Better safe and sorry, i didnt wear a helmet when i was a noob to snowboarding and i hurt myself badly but now im alot better and dont have to wear it. Besides what are they gonna make fun of you for, being safe?

dude HELL NO!!!!! just get a helmet that's really awesome! (or cute) you will look more professional and you will look smarter than those stupid guys when they hit there heads on a rock and get a concussion plus you shouldn't care what other people think : ) have fun snowboarding!

It's lamer to do a Sonny Bono and up up dead because you didn't have a helmet on.
