Answer:
The scratch spin is a lot easier if you're well balanced. So before you try to go faster make sure you're not traveling a lot on the spin. Like the people above me said enter the spin faster. When you pull your right leg in(CCW)make sure your foot is at knee height. If you pull your leg in near your shin you won't spin as fast. Make sure your arms go up or down in sync with your leg. Don't rush the spin. The faster you put your leg down the less time your going to have in the spin. You see professional skaters doing scratch spins right? They moves their arms and legs pretty slowly to drag out the spin. Practice also helps. The more you practice the better your spin will get.

Hey dear, The key is to PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE! That is what will get your scratch spin just right. Now, you want more rotations in the spin, when you go into your spin pull your arms in tighter and bring in your feet faster. Remember to keep your self well positioned so that it will be good:) Hope that you can get more rotations:) Hope I helped, iFigureSkate♥

Scratch spins are tricky and yes, they do take a lot of practice. However, if your technique is poor, practicing over and over just reinforces the bad habits and doesn't make your spin better. Perfect practices build perfection, so make sure you really listen to what your coach tells you and try your very best to do everything correctly, ESPECIALLY when it doesn't feel "right." Bad habits can be very comfortable. If you have beginner or recreational skates, spins will always be difficult unless the Skating Fairy blessed you with buckets of talent to overcome the shortcomings of the blades. Good freestyle boots and blades really help skaters spin correctly and control the skate. At the very least, you should get your blades sharpened with a 1/2" hollow so that you get a good grip on the ice for spins and edges. The keys to a good scratch spin are: . Strong, proper entrance to the spin . Correct body position and checks at the start . Body alignment over the skating blade with free leg held high in front . Not rushing to get into the scratch position; performing the four positions in a controlled fashion. . Coordinating the upper- and lower-body movements. . Proper posture and alignment. . Using the blade correctly - staying over the correct edge and on the blade rocker. Good luck.
