Answer:
Please don't take offense to anything I say, I've had a long, stressful day. So wait, let me get this straight. You're working on backspins at the same time you're working on double loops? Major problem there. Something tells me you're either lying, or having a really REALLY difficult time with backspins. Backspins are learned in Freeskate 2 or 3, I learned mine in Freeskate 1 (USFSA), about 5 years ago. It got much better about 3 1/2 years ago. Axels are learned in Freeskate 4-6, I learned mine in Freeskate 4, about 3 1/2 years ago. I landed it almost exactly 2 years ago. Double loops are learned in preliminary or pre-juvenile, I learned mine after a few months of competing preliminary. I landed it in February 2010, around a year and a half ago. And coaches told me I was advancing fast all along... So basically, you're either a) lying about how long you've been skating, that would be normal progress (except the backspin) for a skater of 3-5 years, b) lying about the jumps you're working on, c) have a screwed up coach who teaches you way out of order, or d) you're completely lying about every aspect of the question. I don't want to accuse you of anything, so I'd like to believe its the third aspect. Anyways, that's freakishly fast progress if you're telling the truth.... I could barely do a scratch spin after skating for 7 months.

Hey, DON'T go bashing on figureskater716 just because she said some truthful things you did not want to hear! The disgusting violence and abusiveness of your answer to her makes me think she's hit a raw nerve - you're lying about something. Look, I'll put it to you this way. In the Aussie Skate system, the backspin is taught at Free Skate 3, which is the same level as the sit spin and SINGLE TOE LOOP. The reason for this is that the loop jump CANNOT be taught without a backspin. The axel especially absolutely CANNOT be taught without a backspin! And you wouldn't be going anywhere NEAR doubles without a backspin. Your spins seem completely out of whack in comparison to the jumps. There are girls at my rink who don't even have their axel who do back camels, back sits, catch-foots etc. Or, to put it in Aussie Skate perspective again, the sit spin is taught at Free Skate 3 (with the backspin and toeloop), and the camel and change-foot spins are taught at Free Skate 4 (with the loop, flip and lutz). So I'm going to back figureskater716's answer to the hilt - you've either got a massively screwed up coach who's teaching you completely out of order, or you're lying. But unlike figureskater716, I'm inclined to believe it's the latter. @xIceeGurlx If you know her, then tell her, abuse and threats are NOT acceptable. figureskater716 voiced her doubts and in the MOST inoffensive manner possible. In return she got abuse and threats. Not on and not a good way to get people on your side.

Although I do believe it's possible for you to be at the level that you say you are, you already know it's abnormally fast. So what's the point in asking?

(For a 17 years old that spelling is scary, not to mention the attitude.) In Naomi's defense, I have a friend who really can jump, but can't do simple forward spin and definitely no backspin. He taught himself the axel, although it looks insecure because the air position and free leg position are very off. It is possible to muscle through some jumps with raw talent and imperfect technique, but without a decent snap on the backspin, doubles are dangerous to attempt.

Naomi, you know you're good and you know you're whooping everyone Else's butts so you don't need to worry. But maybe you should work on that back spin before you keep going with the doubles. edit: just because she likes to use text message typing it shouldn't effect how you answer her
