Is there any ice skating rinks in New Orleans?

Do the ICE SKATING rinks get packed, or do more people sign up for lesson after watching the OLYMPICS?

    The new term of Learn-to-Skate lessons just started at my rink, and this class is a lot larger than the last. Public skate sessions have also picked up dramatically, with much larger numbers of people showing up than previously. So I'd say yes.

They get packed. Sigh. You could hardly move at our family club session yesterday. It's great to have so many guests...but I do like to be able to do a bit of practice.

the learn to skate classes are way more crowded

yes it does seem like that way before the olympics whenever there was public skating the rinks were empty but now they are so crowded its sooooo annoying but i like how now people pay more attention to figure skating :) hate the crowds i cant practice properly without getting knocked to the ground by little kids whizzing around

Yes, there's usually a surge in enrollment for Group lessons after any Olympics. Some rinks may even have two Groups for the same level, i.e. 2 Snowplow Sam1's (youngest Group under the United States Figure Skating program). Suggestion: sign up for Groups anyway - and continue taking Group lessons even in the summer (when the rinks are virtually empty-it's the best time to skate) Good luck; welcome to the Skating World.

Yup, and when Dancing On Ice comes out over here aswell, You go for a lesson and its PACKED with learn to skate people. I have nothing against them dont get me wrong, we was all there once :) But jeez its full.
