Can I have some tips for a double axel?

Does anyone have any tips on the axel and double salchow?

    For the axel make sure your arms are close to you and swing your leg through. Try to go high up and spin fast. If you're just beginning this try doing it from a stand still and hopping to the side with your left leg first (the other side if you skate the opposite direction) then after you hop on your right take off on your left. This is how I learned it. Also do lots of run throughs and waltz jumps and a lot of jumping off the ice so you can get the little more rotation if you don't have it yet. For salchow keep your arm close and bend your left arm a little when you turn so it comes in easier. Looking at the wall when you turn backwards sometimes also helps. Do lots of walk troughs and singles too but this one is hard to do off-ice so maybe try doing it from a mowahk on your right if you don't already (can try this on ice too) or doing the three turn then turning forwards and just an axel.One girl at my club twisted her ankle warming up for a competition on this jump with a three turn so be careful.

I recentley landed my axel and am working on my double salchow. When you take off on your axel, don't lean forward or put weight on that foot, ,Keep ALL your weight on your bak foot. Then don't kick your leg straight up, you have to bend it so you get height. Then just jump and snap your legs crossed and arms to yourself. Just hold that position and then you will land on one foot if you are rotating all the way and staying over your right foot(if your left handed-Left foot)

i tend to have problems with my axel and double salchow my coaches said just take ur time stand up straight lift ur knee cross ur feet and kick ur foot out in the landing so u wont land two footed if u keep falling thats okay ur coach should be able to tell u what ur doing wrong and make sure to use wat he/she says the next time u try and remember the people answering the questions might have had a different problem with their axels/salchows then u are having now so u cant rely on just wat they say u have to find out wat UR doing wrong and then use their tips to help fix it

well i can only give you tips on the axel but i here that people who have their axels have the double sal like that.anyway axels are super easy for me.you have to remember that when you take off,you have to bring your leg straight through and when you are in the air you have to snap like that.all it is is a waltz jump back spin so those are really good to try and then you could just put it all together and do an axel.well thats all the advice i can give you for now.:-)

just to remember to pretend you are a puppet and to go up (like someone is pulling your strings) and then rotate,,,, practice your waltz jump with a loop as a combination, Good luck and dont be hard on your self just remember you can do it

my friend said he has a 'new philosophy for jumps' lol um, according, to him just think 'up' and nothing else. dont think about bending ur knees, putting ur toe in... w/e. lol i havent tried it but i might work. :p
