What do you think of colored figure skating blades?

A total waste of money. I can think of many better things to spend my money on. They're not going to improve your skating and they're not going to improve your marks with the judges - in fact I too have heard that some judges hate coloured blades. Therefore, waste of money. Don't bother. And when was the last time you saw an international skater in coloured blades? Didn't think so.

I think its stupid and little-kiddish. It kind of reminds me of the print bootcovers some skaters wear. While they're cool, they're not necessary, and not worth the money. Like Riley, I would rather have good quality blades than "fashionable" blades.

I have those in icy blue and I had them in snow white with rhinestones near the toepick (I bought them secondhand and they came this way). When I bought them, I didn't really care about the color. They are wonderful blades. Very light and very durable (and I am pretty hard on my skates). The first day I used these blades, my feet felt so light that it was almost like stepping onto a trampoline to jump. I don't approve of the very dark obvious colors as they can be an distraction, but I like the lighter colored ones like chrome or icy blue.

If you're already interested in getting Paramount blades, there's nothing wrong with having a little fun with color. Paramount blades are actually high quality blades used by elites skaters such as Rachel Flatt, Carolina Kostner and Elizaveta Tuktamysheva. Same with the Ultima Matrix blades, which also come in different colors. However, if you only want them because of the color but not the specs of the blades, then that line of thought would be wrong. There are a few girls at my rink who have pink Ultima Matrix blades. The color is not really that distracting because you notice their skating more, and you don't need to coordinate outfits to match the blades. I would think that judges would also pay more attention to your skating than the color or your blades, although I guess it depends. Personally, I prefer silver blades because I like a classic look. But I think colored blades are nice. It's not like you're going to be competing in the Olympics with them or something, so there's no need to be so serious. Just as long as the blades are appropriate for your level.

if the colour can come off then i think thts really cool!

They sound like they could help you with preformenses too,if you do those.people will notice your feet more because of the color,so they will probably notice your tricks more as well.
