Yes, you do need a longer blade, you should measure your new boot from the back of the heel to the tip of the toe. (measure in inches) Add 1/4 inch to this measurement and that is what your blade size should be. The size is written somewhere on the blade, it is different for each blade. This measurement method is at for a figure skating freestyle blade. I think it is different for dance blades... a really good way to answer these questions is to get a good book, such as the figure skating book that has a black cover with a skater doing a billman spin on it, you can buy it from amazon. Good Luck!

yes, you will need new blades. the length of the blade should be a few inches longer than your boot.

yes. u will definitly need a new blade. ask your coach for more advice on where to buy them.

Blade length is based on the length of the skating boot. Since you now need a boot that's five sizes larger, your old blades will not fit. Ask the pro shop or boot maker for the proper length blade needed for your new boots. In general, blade length is usually 1/4" shorter than the boot length. (Measured toe to heel)

Yes. you will need bigger blades. I just went up two sizes in boots, and I need to get bigger blades. In case you didn't know.. that will cost extra!!

Yes, you will need to buy a new set of blades. As far as what size of blades to buy, it depends on the brand of boots you are buying because they all run different.

You need a lot bigger blades to go on your new skates. For every half size in skates the blades get a little bit bigger. When its 5 1/2 sizes the blades will be way to small. also even if they weren't too small it would cost more to get just the boot and attatch the blade to it then getting skates that already have skates. You're too late to be professional so you don't need to buy the boot and blade seperately.

Yes, you'll need a new blade, or you could get boots with the blades already attached. I wear a size 8 and my blade is 10 1/3 inches long.
