  • Answer:

When you mention ski jumps are talking about a "jumping hill" or a terrain park type of jump? When on a jumping hill, you need to build a "pressure wave" under your skiis so you can become an airfoil over the hill. Your skiis should be tips up until just before touchdown. On a terrain park jump, your tips should be parallel to the landing slope or slightly tails down.

When you go off the jump, pop off of the snow at the lip of the jump. Bend your knees and extend, actually jumping off the jump. this will keep you more blanced in the air. if you have a problem of going forward, reach down and grab your ski under the boot, hopefully this will keep you from leaning forward. spot your landing and reach your arms forward. you want your skis to be parallel to the landing.
