How much do ski equipment usually cost?

    FIRST THINGS FIRST A HELMET Giro makes some good helmets O.K. if you want to become better, you might want to learn to ski and then join say your local race team I am a racer and a good pair of skis is around $400-$600 for a GOOD PAIR and that does not just include race skis boots can cost $300+ poles are usually cheap around say $50 for a local pair at your shop and you usually want a pair that create a 90 degree angle when you flip them upside down and put your hand under the basket skis you want right and the tip of your nose to your forehead for if you want to go fast otherwise just get a pair at your nose a good ski company is Head Rossignol Dynastar or FISCHER

Skiing is expensive but you can get good stuff for a bargain. If you can, try to get a job at a resort that way you will have a season pass because a few lessons will teach you basic control but if you can get a few days a week in you'll learn and improve technique fast and love it. After spring break rental shops sell their demo skis; last years model lightly used for 1/4 of the price! I paid $220 for Rossignol skis w/bindings, $50 for boots and $60 for poles.
