  • Answer:

Contact your local ski clubs. The Canadian Ski Association is the amateur sponsoring group for competitive racing in Canada. Molsons did co-sponsor a racing circuit for recreational skiers. If you are thinking about national class racing or further out an international class the training and racing takes many years to reach that level. A typical olympic class racer will need about $1 million dollars US to reach the Olympics. This would include at least 10 years of junior racing and junior national team racing if they are that good. If you are serious about racing start with a good team and coach and hope you are good enough to progress to the regional team level.

You should definitely contact your local clubs. But make sure you look around and find what suits you best. Here are some tips; Look at websites like: www.ski-depot.com for race skis www.artechski.com for accessories www.reliableracing.com for accessories Ensure you choose a good club: At your age there is a chance that you'll be training with the masters so make sure they have a decent sized masters team with a good coach that will help you improve (some clubs don't have very good masters coaches) Hope this helps
