Are twin tip ski's slower?

What is the difference between twin tip skis, powder skis, and regular alpine skis?

  • I have only been skiing a few times but I liked these skis they called "sled dogs". What exactly are those?

  • Answer:

Willie D probably has you covered but theres a couple things, it is much more difficult to ski backwards on regualar skis then twin tips because you have to lean forward, it is vwey easy to catch the back of your ski on the snow and wipe out, i did it myself a few times before i got twin tips i doubt you will be skiing backwards if youve only been a few times though powder skis are generally much fatter and heavier stiffer for Heli skiing in 3 feet of powder at 60 mph. you probably will not be doing this either. regular alpine skis are what most people have and suitable for most skiiers.

Most twin tips are softer than standard alpine skis. Yes there are posers who wear them and never enter the park but they are generally your 20-40 demographic who only go skiing just to take some random women of questionable moral standards and partake in intercourse with her. The skiing is a mating dance which entices her as he may turn around into a switch pizza for several feet growling and moaning in his sexual frustrations.
