Is it too late for me to become a freestyle skier?

How long would it take to become a good skier?

  • Assuming I've never been on skis or snowboard, and could practice every day, how long would it take to become a reasonable skier?

    if your idea of reasonable (on skis) is able to go down greens and blues (the two easiest types of trail) then i would give it about a month and a half, depending on what you do and how long you ski every day you wont be able to go down the blues, they can be hard. The greens should be easy but don't get discouraged. I have been skiing since i was 3-4 and im 13 and do double blacks and blacks. On snowboard? i have no idea, never done it. Give yourself a year for being able to ski most of the mountain, btw what mountains are you on?

Probably not too long. If you have a good teacher maybe like 5 times to really get the hang of it an be able to manage on the slopes

Its not just practice everyday, its how long everyday you practice. You get out of it what you put into it so the more you are on the skiis and snowboard the better you get. The more conpetitions you enter the more confidence you get but don't get discouraged in the competitions. Use them to study the video of you going down and compare what you did vs what the first 3 places did. That is what football and basketball teams and even fighters have done for years. Study and more study and practice and more practice. You could get pretty good by the first year's end and each year after that will improve you greatly but some of these people have been doing it since they were tiny tots.
