  • Answer:

Go to a professional ski shop and try on different brands and models of boots. Expect to be in the shop 3-4 hours to get the correct fit. Different brands are shaped for different feet. Also have the shell and the liner, heat molded to your feet. Add custom foot beds and get checked for cants and ramp/delta. Ask your boot fitter for advice and listen to them. The boots are the most critical part of the package. As to skis, try to demo different pairs before you buy. How a ski is tuned makes a big difference in how they perform.

You'd better just try them on and see how they work. Ski boots, just make sure that your ankle is properly touching the tongue if you lean forward a bit, that the clasps aren't at the very end or start, and that there's enough room for your toes and a small toe warmer (always nice, in case ;)) inside. For skis, yeah, around your forehead height.

You would need a boot of Mondo size 31.5, 32, or 32.5 and if you are a good skier I would recommend skis in the 170-190 range. They should come up to at least your neck and no higher than your forehead. Good luck!!
