What Ski size should I purchase?

What racing ski size should i have?

  • Ok so I am about 160 lbs and I have a slalom ski that is a jr 150 size. Is this ski size too small for me or could it work for like one more year? I have used this ski for the past ...show more

  • Answer:

Someone who weighs 160 should not be on a junior ski. It's too flexible for your weight. Different races have different skis. Slalom skis are very short, downhill skis are very long. If you will only buy one pair of skis, a GS ski is your best bet. Someone your height and weight should use a GS ski about 170 cm in length (maybe 175 if you are an expert racer).

Depends, are you an intermediate skier? or a proffesional skier? For me, Im about 4"10 and I weigh 90 pounds and my ski size is 150(Im an begginer intermediate), Personally, I would change the ski since you are 5''10 I think that a 160 would work for you since my friend is about the same height, weight as you and she has that size. Usually, for a growing person(kid, teen) you should change your ski every 1-2 years. And the ski lengh should usually be from your foot to your nose, (head) if you are a proffesional who can control it. There's nothing wrong with using the skis you have tight now, but you might start to feel it is too easy to use, since using a right size, will make you feel comfortable and it will be extremely fun.

I have 150 slalom skis, and I am an expert skier! Not to mention I am a lot shorter then you! I think you need longer skis!
