When people ski on a glacier, they are not skiing on the chunks of ice near the bottom of the glacier but on the massive snow fields at the very top of the glacier. The glacier is a "river" of compacted snow from the snow fields higher up the mountain. There is quite a bit of glacier skiing in New Zealand and in lots of countries in Europe, Canada and Alaska. Ski planes or helicopters would get you there. Expensive but amazing.

Never skiied a glacier, or not that i know of.. your best bet for skiing is to just go out west or stay on the east coast.. In the summer if you want to ski head down to Chile
