Answer:
Number 1 On any turn, consider your skis to have "4" edges -- from the boot forward on your uphill foot, from the boot backward on your uphill foot, from the boot forward on your downhill foot, and from the boot backward on your downhill foot. Got that? If not, read it again. Always make sure that you keep equal weight on all four edges. In other words, centre your weight "fore and aft" over the skis, and side to side such that you have equal weight on both the front and the back of both skis. Number 2 The pressure of your skis against the snow should be equal at all times. In other words, extend and retract your legs so that you always feel the same "pressure" coming back from the snow. Imagine that the snow is a thin white icing on a chocolate cake. You want your skis to carve a slight "cut" in the icing without cutting into the cake. Number 3 Always keep your upper body facing down the hill, never across the hill. Always lean down hill (which it will be when you have your weight balanced properly on your skis). Number 4 Keep your legs moving back and forth relative to each other at all times. Keep them moving at equal speed. Do not just move one leg ahead of the other to initiate a turn, then hold that position without "relative movement" between the legs until the turn is completed. Keep the legs moving back and forth at the same speed all of the time. The knees are equal when you are crossing the fall line and "rolling" from one turn to the next. At the maximum, one knee is never further than 4" to 6" ahead of the other knee. Number 5 See www.theskicoach.com. Buy it. It will be the best money you ever spent on skiing. My wife and I have one, and one of us wears it every day. We ski an average of 30 days each year. She has been skiing over 40 years. I am a newbie with only 13 years under my belt, but we still both use the Ski Coach. (We have no financial interest in this business - we just believe in the product.)

Hi, I don't know how old you are, or how long you've been skiing, but here goes: think back to the early days, especially if you learnt on carving skis. Relax the shoulders, upper body slightly towards the fall line, look forward and enjoy the view! It may pay to get a couple of hours 1-2-1 tuition. Don't concentrate on looking good, that will come with a relaxed posture and confidence. Fluidity comes with ground appreciation; like driving a car, if you look ahead you are more able to adjust your style to adapt to the terrain/conditions/other slope users. If you learned on "planks", you may find you are "blocking" i.e. keeping you skis too close together (a la Killy!!) Again, relax, and let them go.
