What length of skis do I need?

HELP! i need to buy new skis QUICK! don't know which ?

    Wow, you sound like one heck of a skier! Keep at it! Ya know, everyone has their favorite brand and my fave is Atomic. Atomic makes great all mountain skis, they carve like a race ski on hard snow, but they also ski well in powder and bumps. Its tough to say which ski, as you didn't say if you like to ski on the trails or off-piste, and whether you prefer unbroken deep snow or packed/groomed snow. I am going to assume since you said black/blue that you are more on the groomed runs, then take a look at the Atomic Hot Minx... I think these will fit your budget too. If you are doing the terrain park, then you need twin tip skis and then there are tons of choices. Atomic also made a Balanze- which was a girl version of the popular Metron skis.

You have several constraints on your wants. 1. New ski sets are expensive. 2. Durable equipment is expensive. 3. You are improving rapidly so you need high performance. 4. Cool ski is very expensive. The only real solution in your budget range would be a pair of last year or the year before from an instructor who is replacing them. I would suggest Tyrolia bindings which seem to be very durable. Look for a full race ski or a top all-mountain ski in your size. Either one will give you a ski to last a couple of years and let you improve. If you are breaking a pair every season, I want to know why and how. I use the same pair for 4-5 seasons with 5 days a week and 3-4 months a season. Mine are used and I have not broken a pair in 15 years. Learn to land with your legs flexible. Touch down shovel first, then boots.

It sounds like you should start getting into park skiing. But good brands for just DH would be rossignol, salomon, fisher, atomic, k2, dynastar, volkl and head.
