Where to find big racing Ski Boots?

I got my boots at www.backcountry.com Full Tilt Booters Normally I would advise against getting things online as others have mentioned, boots are very much so a "unique fit" item and sizing is only a guide, not exact. 28.5 Salomon boots will fit differently than 28.5 Dalbello, or 28.5 Head, etc. The only reason I got mine there is because of 100% refund/free return shipping. So I actually purchased 3 different sets of boots from them and returned the ones that didn't fit. I am glad it worked that way as the one I figured it would be, wasn't. (I got 29, 29.5, 30 and I figured the 29.5's were going to be the money, and actually the 29's were the best fit.) I also know how my boots are supposed to fit, so I didn't need a fitter to tell me. (I have owned several pairs of boots over the years, racing and recreational.) Racing boots generally run a little small as you cinch them down hard before a race and loosen them up or "unsnap" at the bottom. If you are unsure of what you need? Do what Jim suggests and speak to a boot fitter.
