At most ski areas, the terrain parks are open to anyone. Here in Colorado, you can be a beginner skier, and try the 23' super pipe or one of the 30' jumps. If you are dumb enough to do it, no one is going to stop you. If you haven't done jumps before, my advice is to take a full day terrain park lesson from an instructor with their PSIA Freestyle Specialist certification. They will be able to take you through a progression so that you can learn to ski jumps safely.

Idk, the slope of some of those hills is the terrain park are pretty wicked, worse than some of the black diamonds I've been on, even thought the terrain park is on an intermediate slope. They usually have space on the sides that you can ski to get around the jumps. You're going to be landing on steep slopes, so you need to be able to handle the steeps with some confidence. The trick to skiing steeps is that your body needs to be perpendicular to the slope, so put your weight forward over the front of your skis.
