Are ski blades/ski boards harder on the legs than full length skis on bumps?

It doesn't matter how long your skis/boards are, bumps are still going to hurt if you're not wearing jeans and rear-entry boots.

Yes it is reduced, a longer ski will support you better over it's full length. It also will cushion some of the shock on each bump and each terrain change. You will need ski lessons to learn how to use a longer ski with an efficient body movement pattern.
