Where can I find information about skiing resorts near New York City?

I am looking a good skiing resort for that is: 1- within 3 or 4 hours from NYC 2- easy for beginners with little or no skiing experience 3- Child friendly & has children day care ...show more

As the poster above wrote, Hunter is definitely within 3 hrs of NYC. As much as I like Hunter, I think Windham may be better suited for beginners and children. Other than that, you may have to drive further or maybe try some areas in the Poconos.
