  • im really in to it but im a beginner and im not sure which skis i should buy

  • Answer:

Skis are really expensive so you should look for some slightly used beginner/intermediate skis. Go to ski swaps, or post an ad in the paper.

well i recommend some used rossignols, atomics, or solomon for occasional skiing. fischers are really nice but theyre a bit advanced. u could go to a ski shop and theyll tell you a size and what brand they recommend

I'd suggest seasonal rentals, available at most ski shops. Try the rentals until you get better. Ski shop sales people are usually very savvy about their products, don't be afraid to question them!

For beginners, skis don't really matter. If you are an adult (won't grow out of your skis) you can get some good skis, but always ask someone at a store for a recommendation. I would suggest staying away from twin tips, which are more for jumping and you won't really learn how to carve a nice turn on them, and racing skis which are probably too demanding for beginners. Make sure the ski has a soft flex and length is usually between your chin and top of head, shorter for beginners.
