I would go with skiing beacuse thats what I've done for the past eight years. Never tried snowboarding but I love skiing.

You can get better quick progress skiing, and you won't look or feel so awkward trying to walk around the level terrain. On the other hand those ski boots are pretty tough on the feet. That's why hot tubs are so big at ski areas. Hey enjoy the season, if only to sit around the fire and soak it in!

I would much rather have both my feet working independently than tied down to one board! You should try Cross Country, it's a lot more fun!!!

start with skiing..much easier....i mastered it after only a few days on the slopes...so we then tried snowboarding lessons and i couldn't do it at all....skiing is much more fun....

I went skiing last week and I noticed the snowboarders fall a lot... and when they do it looks like it hurts!

Skiing is easier to pick up the core basics, but harder to perfect. Snowboarding has a hard initial learning curve, but once you get over that, it's pretty easy. So if you're only going on a short trip, you're probably better off skiing.
