It depends. If you're a beginner you won't want racing gloves, although they look cool. The best gloves are ones that have gortex. And ones what have padding. Lexi are leading the way in terms of racing gloves. But for normal gloves the brand doesn't matter. It is the quality what counts. I have lexi racing gloves they are amazing. They have titanium knuckles, with carbon fiber fingers, and a power strap, now that is a glove. try this http://www.skiracing.co.uk/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=24&zenid=2b3c08214395b2e2790e0ae53b9e34c1

Empire is a great brand. They are hand made but look at grenade they are focused on only gloves. I believe dakine and orage have some good gloves too. Look a ski clothing companies not ski companies. At least for good lasting gloves

Some of the great glove brands out there are: -Marker -Kombi -Swany -Head I have actually recently gotten into the Head Outlast gloves. They are excellent gloves and they are sold at Costco for about $20, so I buy a few pairs of them every winter. Good Luck and Hope this Helps!

Get some Marmot gloves. They are good gloves but a cheap price. It's a fairly large brand, you should be able to find them anywhere. you can also try looking for some lobster glovers which is like in between gloves and mittens (a spot for your thumb and then a spot for two fingers and a spot for your other two fingers). They are very warm but still give you better grabbing capability. Also, you really do need two pairs of gloves (so you can wear one while the other dries).

Try them on for fit, all brands are good, some have features the others do not. Mittens are warmer than gloves, but not as fashionable. Buy 2 pair so one set can dry and you can keep going. Some of the snowboard gloves have a small pocket on the back of the hand. Great for small items or a hand warmer. The ski sales start this week, go shopping.
