What will be the future of IT after 10 years? Give reasons.?

I am not a futureteller. But I believe people like You or me might become millionaires if we stay in this line and specialize more and more. I am in Germany and once India gets the speed of Internet I have (DSL 6000), Indians will finish the slow Germans where everythings goes very slow. No movement and only hesitation. The present in manufacturing PC components is in China, if India puts more efforts and capital in it, India has a very big chance to overtake China in the next 5 years already. Regarding software/operating we have to operate from India, because the West is still doubting. Our domestic and Asian market is more than big enough.

IT will always be around. Computers break down, users can be clueless. There will always be a need to have a person be able to come to your desk to replace parts or remote in to updatea software. The future of IT is sub-contracting. The phone and on-line help will be farmed out to cheaper countries (not just India, but all the south Pacific and south America as well). You don't need to have someone down the hall to answer software or user questions. They can be half-way around the world and you'd never know. The pysical assistance will come from sub-contracting firms that hire out their stable of IT workers on an as-needed basis. One company of 6-8 techs can cover a rather large area very easily. The company in need of help calls the sub-contractor and they send out a tech to the company to assist with the problem. It's a win-win. The company doesn't have to pay for a full-time IT department, and the sub-contractor gets many customers so can keep their staff working.
