How to improve hand writing?

Nervous System: Is ambidexterity an innate quality or is it something that can be developed with practice? How can I improve my writing abilities on my other hand?

  • I see that i do too much of work on my right hand and my left hand is just relaxing.  I would like to train my left hand to do some tasks and balance the load - writing, track-padding on my mac, playing badminton, table-tennis etc.

  • Answer:

Ambidexterity is an innate quality, the overwhelming majority of people have one dominant hand, and have much less dexterity and comfort with the other. Some people were just born being comfortable with both. That said, like most talents it can be replicated to some degree with practice.  A right handed person can, over time, learn to use their left hand almost as well, though it's likely they'll always feel more comfortable with the right hand. Even after years of practice, it's unlikely you'll be able to use both hands at the same time for a single task. You can use them both separately, but not together.

Both. Some people are born ambidextrous. A lot of them achieve full or partial ambidexterity with practice. I was better than most people at using my 'other' hand but nowhere near being ambidextrous. But with practice I learnt to write. Now I can carry out most everyday tasks using either hand. There is still some difference between the two hands' writings and the manner in which I execute certain tasks.
