You'll have to pardon Eri. She lives in a world where there are no peer reviewed articles reporting successful ESP experiments. In the real world such articles and experiments do exist, and are published in peer-review journals either edited or reviewed by real scientists, such as the Journal of Parapsychology or the Journal of Scientific Exploration (not to mention other mainstream scholarly publications such as Nature and the Journal of the IEEE -- and there are several others -- which have also published such papers). But your assignment isn't to show that ESP is real, but rather just the opposite -- that research into ESP isn't real science. You may find a few scholarly articles making that argument, but more often you will find merely opinion pieces by scholars, scientists, and less credentialed folks claiming research into ESP is not science. The reason there are so few solid scholarly articles making the argument and so many mere opinion pieces that do so is because a large body of ESP research meets every criteria demanded of mainstream science, but because it explores a phenomenon that mainstream scientists are taught to have a bias against, they argue that it isn't science. There is a good book that covers both sides of the debate, edited by Patrick Grimm called "The Philosophy of Science and the Occult."
