  First, give up something you enjoy and put the money that would have gone toward that toward your trip instead. For instance, if you go to the movies weekly, you could put the cost of the ticket and concessions toward your trip. Second, send out sponsor letters to family, friends, church members, businesses you frequent, neighbors. Not everyone will be able to contribute financially, but you can ask for donations of items as well (see below). Host a yard sale. Declutter your home while raising money for your trip. You can use items donated by those you wrote letters to as well. Instead of pricing items, have information about your trip displayed and ask for donations- you will likely raise more in that manner. Bake sale. Spaghetti supper hosted at church. If your pastor is open to the idea, s/he could be "kidnapped" or "jailed" and an offering could be taken up to "ransom" or "bail" him/her- with proceeds going toward the trip. Mow lawns. Wash cars. Babysit. Shovel snow. Walk dogs.
