Is advertising a profitable field to get into? Is it difficult? Time consuming?

    Which part of advertising are you referring to? As they said, advertising is a vast field. In my case being a graphic artist in an ad agency can be fulfilling in a sense that it let's you grow as an artist but it is also time consuming and difficult at times especially when you work overtime for months and there isn't really much of an overtime pay to compensate for your OT work. It is not much profitable if you are still in a lower position. But if you're going into the advertising business as an ad agency or just a design studio, it can be profitable but it entails a lot of hardwork and manpower on your part.

depends on what position you get into, but believe me, it's time consuming. that's why i resigned from my advertising job - clients can be unreasonable, and your bosses can be impossible, but twas a good experience nonetheless.

That is very general. Advertising is a whole field. It is profitable but very competitive.

It depends on where you're located and what position you're looking for. I was a copywriter for a Florida ad agency several years ago, and while the work was great, it was a pretty thankless job with very little money.
