    How much time do you have to raise the funds? Have an awards banquet. The awards can be supplied by sponsors. The cost of the catering could be covered by sponsors. Tickets to this event could be sold for $100 a head or something outrageous like that. They can be sold to sponsoring companies and given to students who otherwise couldn't afford them. The parents club would be a great source of sponsors both from the parents and from the companies they work for. The students could sell the tickets to the event. Your school principle, head coach, or some of the teachers could be presenters of the awards. They would also be a good source for ideas about what the awards would be given for. How's that?

We've had movie all nighters raffles, fun fairs parents just giving the money instead of selling tickets haunted houses seminars trips Fasts (amazing how many kids will go with out food for a day or a weekend, if they can crash at school, be semi entertained and hang out with their friends) Good luck, see if you can get one of your local marketing firms to come talk to them about how to market and what effective marketing would be for them
