What exactly is negative campaign advertising?

What is the marketing term for when 2 companies join to market their own products in 1 advertising campaign?

  • I know there is a name for it but can't remember. Let's say Coke was going to join with Lays Potato chips for one advertising campaign. What would that be called?

  • Answer:

It could be joint venture but it could more or less be called whatever those two companies want to call it.

Yep... joint venture. It's not permanent, but will give each other company a boost on the market.

I'm guessing, but would either be a partnership campaign, affiliate program or partnership, or a merger of sorts, though a merger is really when two companies completely merge together into one company...not quite the same thing.

A merger.
