How can I become a better telemarketer?

I was a telemarkter and i hated it!The best thing you can do is not to take things personally because with this job people do get a little bit cranky.

quit the job because everyone in america HATES telemarketers~!

Confidence. alot is to do with confidence in my opinion, i was a Telemarketer for a mortgage company for a few months and the one thing they kept installing into us was to be confident as so it came over to the other person on the phone, if we believe the product will work/is good, they will. but try not to get confidence and overconfidence /cockyness mixed up :)

Be very polite and friendly

It is a really hard job. I don't know if it's possible. I get a lot of calls from telemarketers. It's annoying because they want to keep you on the phone as long as possible. It's not my job to talk to them most of my day. I think being sensitive to the needs of the people you speak with. If they ask you to email them information then do so and ask them to call you if they are interested. I know that I will if there is a need. But the people that keep calling me, I do remember and will not call them if I have a need. I prefer email. It's less interrupting.
