How to get over my fear of vomit?

    Become bulimic! Ha! sorry..thats probably not a good joke....moving right along... hmmm.....i don't understand your fear....maybe because i dont know the source or cause behing it....so think back, if you can and try to find why you are so afraid of vomit... did you once have a bad vomit/gagging experience yourself, or see someone experience one? then you have to work through this memory and issue....start visualizing yourself in your new job....imagine yourself going about your job happily, carrying out various tasks...then imagine someone vomiting....slowly add to it....the sight...the sound....the smell...now, map out in your mind how you feel and what you would do...visualize yourself OVERCOMING this fear and working through it, assisting another nurse in helping out this patient. Do this often...reassure yourself. maybe watching vomit videos or movies about bulimia would help you learn and overcome this fear...and you never know, maybe you'll find a soft spot in your heart and profession for us Ana/Mia skeletons! ;) you could help a lot of people! this is what you want! Focus on the people you are to help! focus on how much you want to help them...focus on the paycheck! lol! whatever you have to do! if you really want this, you'll get it! i used to be scared of vomit, i was once on tablets to overcome nausea as i lived my life nauseous as my fear of vomiting was ridiculous!!!!! the only was i got over it was actually getting pregnant and vomiting, and then my kids vomiting,,, like i have 4 kids,,, no joke at the moment ive gone thru 2 weeks of gastro hell, as 6 of us have gastro, i have been cleaning it all up, off floors, beds, carpet, beds, clothes, hair, sinks, buckets, blankets, pillow,,,,,,,,, OMG, vomit has been on every part of our house!!! and it never bothered me, except for all the washing, the vomit smells and seeing it didnt make me sick,, till i caught it, then i was was sick,,lol,, im all ok now, so r the kids, just my hubby is vomiting still,,, come over, mayb u can overcome your fear!!!, lol

Change Careers. It is a phobia. Cover your nose and put something under your nose like hand sanitizer or something. Knock out the smell. It is gross, I agree. The only change in the career would be Medical Records Technician. Or a Health Information Technology. I wanted to be a nurse, but I can't stand shots. Oh well, good luck with your future.
