How do teams get into the Champions League(CL) playoff? How many teams comprise the Champions League? Am I correct in thinking the Champions League is 'higher' than the Cup? ...show more

Uefa champions league is for the elites of europe, while the Uefa cup is for teams who are good enough and couldnt reach the champions league. the first 4 spanish, english, italian teams in their leagues Qualify to the Champions league while the 5th and 6th qulify to the UEFA Cup.. 1&2 french, German, dutch..etc qualify to the Champions League and the 3rd & 4th to the CUP.. English Premier league, Spanish La Liga, Italian Serie A are considered to be the best and biggest leauges in which the are allowed more teams in UEFA in general, while German Bundeslia, Netherlands Everdise and French League and smaller.. then comes all the other European leagues.
