No, now sikhism is not hinduism.. its very different. but originally it was a branch of it. but now it is considered a seperate religion. muslims do not celebrate diwali but in india some might join along with their friends. diwali was originally celebrated because of ram's return to ayodhya after spending 14 years in the forests.

Diwali is celebrated by Hindus

Jaspreet D

I celebrate Diwali. :-) Hindus and Sikhs celebrate Diwlai for the same reason. On;y Sikhs have given up idol worship of Hindu Deities. But they decorate and clean the houses and well as light it up. They may not say the same prayers. Or pray to Goddess Lakshmi. Sikhism- origin is just a branch of Hindu. Guru Nanak Dev ji just put it in a "new bottle". He also wrote a "granth" which is like a Bible. That is the base of the religion. Too long for more.
