There are lots of ways to get free traffic to your site (including your link in you question above is a good start!) I'm not a traffic expert myself, but I do own a few sites that consistently get solid traffic. I tried PPC (AdWords) but I don't spend much because I'm cheap and I'd rather focus on getting more free traffic. I got a lot of good ideas from a report I read at the link below.
