Does anyone really pay attention to internet advertising?

I don't pay attention to it... and if it is so invasive that it pops up in front of what I am trying to read - I make a mental note NOT to use that company.

I can only answer for myself, and the answer is 'NO'. It has become so annoying in fact, that if I happen to become trapped into noticing what the ad is for before I can close it, I will do one of two things: 1-If it is a product that I am currently using, I discontinue use of the product that is being advertised. 2-If it is a product that I do not currently use, then I will avoid using the product in the future.

I don't ever pay attention to internet advertising because there's been several times in the past of when I clicked on an ad, a virus or some misc crap has been installed on my computer. Plus too is the fact that when you click on what seems to be a legitimate ad, it always goes to something totally different. I ignore the ads and I've got IE set up to block pop ups.
