Answer:
You can work up to 16 hours without having to sign off. Next time you go in just tell them and take in your payslip and they will just deduct whatever you earned from your JSA allowance.

As long as you declare those 6 hours, and say they were a one off, you will still get your jobseekers allowance.

You need to go in and tell the people at the job center. You will have to declare it, and if you don't, you will be outed by you tax and insurance records. Chances are, they wont sign you off, but they will probably deduct a weeks JSA that you wouldn't have been eligible for. I'm sure you arent the only person to start a job only to be told a day or so later that they don't need you. Best thing you can do is be honest with them, give them all the details, and you should be fine. Just be prepared to have to give some money back :)

It's quite easy to claim jsa while declaring part time work. All you do is declare your part time earnings, the first £5.00 (if single claim) is not deducted but everything after that is. The basic rule is once you earn more wages then your benefit plus £5.00 or work 16 hours or over, your claim will stop. Also, i you wish to test a job, you can ask the jobcentre and possible new employer about a work trial. A bit like a working interview, everyone test each other out before making any changes. You get additional financial support as well. As long as you get some benefit, you still get housing benefits, etc.

Yes you can.....But it must be declared to jobseekers, unpaid or paid. remember it can affect your benefits.
