What is the difference between Want and Need?

"Want" is when you acquire something that is not necessary, while "Need" is to have an affinity or acquire something that is necessary for a particular time. "Want" applies to desires, "Need" applies to important things.

You need water to survive but you want coca-cola soft drink to cheer.

want is just a desire to have something.u cant satisfy ur want coz wants are unlimited. while Need is essentially a thing u really desire without fullfiling which u cant live on. just as u need food n u want a pizza thats all of it

Need=must have (air, water, food). Want=Don't need, just would like to have, and can do without. Boiled rice is food. You can live on that. London broil is a want, as are most things we consume (food, cars, etc.).

the things u want or the difference if the things u need. like i dont need a guitar i want one now if i was in a band then yes i do need one to play in the band. so there are things that u ave to get bc u need them and there are the things that u want , but u can wait on them , they wont fly away..

a want is something that you'd like to have (maybe a car) a need is something that is more vitally important to you, like daily food and water and the air that you breathe etc
