Recently started a carpet cleaning business- what is best way to advertise besides newspaper, tv or radio?

We had a mechanic who never advertised and had more customers then he could handle, all because of word of mouth. He charged a fair rate, cared for his customers and his work was of the highest quality. We loved him and spread the word.
