What companies will hire people with a criminal background?

How will companies hire all of the people they need with a limited supply of candidates if they refuse to look at candidates they have spoken with previously and rejected?

• According to many sources, the need for hiring talented individuals in all fields (marketing, sales, IT, engineering) outstrips demand. I am currently one of those talented individuals, yet I am unable to get one of these jobs. I know that I have the skills, the passion and the drive to excel in the roles I am applying for, but it seems like these companies would rather leave a position vacant for months on end rather than hire someone like me and give me a chance. I have applied for jobs with these companies in the past and have been rejected. This leads me to believe that these companies are under the incorrect impression that if a person is not qualified in the past, then s/he is not a viable candidate in the future. Other than the obvious (going to networking events, connecting with friends who know people in the company, etc.) what else can a potential candidate do to get a job at one of these companies, especially in positions that I know are back-filled and need to be filled as soon as possible?

  This won't be easy to read, so if you don't want to read it stop now. Have you considered that maybe you aren't one of those individuals, or if you are you have a flaw that is significant enough that companies don't want to employ you? Businesses hire based on an expected return of value- I spent 70K and get back 150K, great- I spend 70K and get back 70K and I've wasted my time. Have you asked why you are being passed over? Have you considered that perhaps you aren't self aware about your weaknesses, etc?
