Answer:
definitely take it. i don't know about your teacher, but mine prepped us really well. it was pretty demanding but the end, totally worth it. we memorized all the presidents, and had a 10 question multiple choice quiz every day, which were fairly easy. and we also played jeopardy before each test, which made the tests not difficult at all. we watched videos about the topics and did little study group types. it's not as hard as you think. well, hope you decide to stick with it. It all depends on the school and the teacher. At my school we have one of the best teachers in the country who is extremely demanding and difficult but offers a very rewarding experience if you take her class. At other schools AP US history is a joke and its easy for the class but you do poorly on the test. My advice, if it's your only AP class you are signed up for, definitely keep it, because colleges will wonder why you didn't take any AP classes for whatever year you are in.

1. memorize all presidents and their years of presidency 2. memorize states and capitals, cases, laws, blah blah everything 3. understand concepts and trends over history 4. read 20pages + everyday 5. work hard 6. be able to analyze everything you learn

I plan on taking it this year too. I'm sure it can't be too bad as long as you try your best, don't procrastinate, and study hard. It all depends on you. I hope we both do great. :)

pretty much, you will be doing everything from the black plague up... and you will be writing at least two essays a week. Alot of research paper's...
yarrrr...
The demands of the class all depend on you. If you love history, it will be no problem. For me, I just read the textbook when the teacher assigned it, and listened when he lectured. The class wasn't hard, and neither was the test. I would advise you to keep up with your assignments, and definitely ask for help when you need it. Practice your writing, too.
