How to pass gcse French?

Is a D a pass in GCSE French?

  • In english etc. the MAIN passes are from A* - C, but in French does this change ... and make D a pass?

  • Answer:

Officially everything to G is a pass. In reality anything below a C is considered a fail by anyone who matters such as employers and higher education establishments

My information is that a D means that the candidate got less than about 30%. I suspect that an exam in a second language looks for different skills than on in a first language and grades are given accordingly so a C in Serbian is the same as a C in English for progression to further and higher education. As an employer my information is to treat anything less than a GSCE B grade as a poor pass or 'defered' pass

D's count only as one of the 98% of pass marks achived this year. You know for your self if you would survive in france with no English speakers or not.
