How to sell a product that nobody wants to buy?

  • nobody wants to buy my products in my shop

  • Answer:

Do they know about your products and why they are better than a similar product from another company/store? How is it priced compared to the competition? How are you getting the word out to increase visibility? How do you approach people to see if they are interested? You need to develop a marketing strategy to promote awareness of why I (or anyone else) needs your product. Without that, you could have the best widgets in the world and nobody would know.

Create a demend for it. That's how I'm been taught and it really work even in insurance industry. I used to work in insurance and taling aboout insurance, most people would avoid the topic and walk away. What we did when I was in insurance industry was: 1) chat with the potiential cliente with his preference and his need. 2) base on the need and preference, tailor a package for him. Package would include 2 basic essential: His Needs His POSSIBLE Needs 3) Sell him at a competitive price as a package not as individual pieces. Smaller gains on larger volume in long run will boast up your profit. 4) Provide after sales care (perhaps you can set a duration of 1-3months), a lot of people including Singaporeans appreciate it a lot if you are willing to provide such service to save them from trouble to source for the company that provide servicing. 5) Good quality service in long run will give you a boast in your business. People usually buy items from shops that they know or through recommendations from their WOM (word of mouth). Hope my information helps

I am in marketing, with my experience word of mouth is best, but if its merchandising try making a focal point in the front door, window, tell everyone that its the special of the day..etc.try e-bay, try posters, flyers, rearrange everything to make it look more appealing, make sure it's appealing to everyone like the "new car smell approach they use to lure you in" lol.

Because you aren't a Wal*Mart. Everyone is out to save a buck and no small shop can compete with Wal*Mart :( So sad!
