Answer:
Hi, I'm from Australia. I only know of one JW family that chose to home school their kids (that weren't living in remote areas.) They are still in school and I've lost contact with them since they moved away. I wonder how good home schooling is and if it has social impacts. By that I mean having the opportunity to socialise with people from all different demographic groups. Yes, they can socialise at the Kingdom Hall but what happens when they go to work. There is the potential that they will be faced with situations that people would seem quite ordinary but the homeschooled person would not and struggle to cope or deal appropiately with the situation. I encourage you to think about the long term repercussions and/or benefits of home schooling.

As far as I know, Australia has some extensive home schooling programs because of children living on ranches in the outback, where the next home over is 100 miles away.

I live in New Mexico, USA. I am a Jehovah's Witness. I homeschooled for the last two years of high school. (We moved, and the public schools in New Mexico are really bad.) A lot of my friends down here were homeschooled. I enjoyed homeschooling a lot more than I did public school. If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me at [email protected].

I did home schooling for the latter half of 3rd grade and then from the latter half of 5th on. Sadly the school I went through is not accredited in my state anymore, so my credits don't mean anything diploma wise. I will eventually get my GED. I really think I got a worlds better education, and safer too.

Are you in Australia? or is the question that you are going to Australia to homeschool? Either way, have you tried doing a YAHOO search for a YAHOO group? I know there are homeschoolers who have a group, specifically for JW's, they are in the U.S. I think if you tried a search in YAHOO groups, you may find something there. I hope this helps.
