  • Answer:

Do you get along with your parents? Are you a good candidate to study for yourself? You can get started by getting out the books. Open them up and begin to read. A basic set of academic study should include a good dictionary, a set of encyclopedia, a Bible, a math text book and answer key, paper, pens and pencils, a full bookshelf of classics and historic autobiographies. Begin with a math lesson every morning. Strive for accuracy. Try to completely work out each equation. When they are done, check the answers and re-do any that are wrong. We use Saxon Math. It is great for self-teaching. When you are done with math: Write. Write a full page essay every day. Use the encyclopedia to find interesting material. After you write a full page get out the reading books. Read every day for at least 2 hours. Use the dictionary to look up and memorize words and their meaning and usage. Do a google search for every home-school site that you can find. Find other people that are successful students and try to be just like them.

First of all...Congrats on wanting to take charge of YOUR education! :-) I highly recommend the book "The Teenage Liberation Handbook: How to Quit School and Get a Real Education" by Grace Llewelyn. It is packed with how-to's, resources, stories of teens who have successfully quit school and went on to colleges, or started their own business, apprenticed in an area of interest, and even those who have decided just to start working full time. Lastly, check out the rules for your state here: http://homeschooling.gomilpitas.com/laws/blVA.htm Best of luck and wishes to you.

For independent study, go to your guidance counselor (you might have to have your parents with you) and tell them you want to go on independent study. They will tell you all of your options, and hook you up with the paperwork you need from the state. If the counselor won't help you (mine was a jerk), go to his/her boss the principal. Good luck!

Home schooling isnt your answer, by the sounds of it you need to emancipate yourself from your parent/guardian. Apply to become a ward of the state and guess what FREE SCHOOL. being a ward of the state may sound horrible but you will have full medical full dental free living arrangements in an apartment or such get a monthly stipend and FREE COLLEGE goto school get a Masters degree in whatever you little hard desires and be HAPPY!! for once search online for ward of state criteria or emancipation GOOD LUCK and keep your chin up

First, you have to have parents willing to teach you. Second, you have to have a curriculum. Look up "Home School curriculum" on the net. Then you have to actually do the work. Good luck.

Well the answer is different depending on your state. Check with your State's laws. Since you are attending an Alternative School currently they should be able to refer you to a home school option. Best of luck.

Poor social outcast. Yes, run home for your education and become that introvert you always wanted to be, devoid of human contact.
