Independent study program in CA?

Does anybody know about an independent study at home program where a person can earn a high school diploma?

    I can help. If she is just beginning, that makes her a freshman. I personally have told and seen my friends graduate with an accredited program from P.C.D.I.[Professional Career Development Institute]. The cost is $1100 at the most[for all four years] whether u take the general or academic program. Everything now can be done online EXCEPT for the written assignments. It's worth it. My friends finished 4 years in like 5 months. It all depends on how quickly u finish and whether u keep up with the payments[which are like 40 dollars a month].

www.k12.com is nearly free, but I don't know how challenging or about the accreditation. Try posting this same question at the homeschool forum on www.homeschoolreviews.com (Be sure to add the "s" to the end of "reviews" or you will get a different, jumbled, annoying website.) I have home schooled my 5 children and I now have two in college! I have one in high school one in middle school and one in Kindergarten. For high school we used American School located in Lansing, Illinois. They are not on line although they may have a web site. It is a correspondence course for an accredited diploma. The entire high school program is only about $1000. We have been very happy with the results. The textbooks are all great and academically challenging.

I am not sure of the prices but Pensacola (I don't know if I spelled that correctly) Academy is a good place. They extememly challenging. (Believe me I've been through part of their program.) They were established in 1954 and are excellent at what they do. They publish the Abeka curriculum. It is a great program. Good Luck.
