Answer:
Have you asked your mom why she won't let you homeschool? If you know the reason why she won't let you homeschool than you might be able to come up with a way to work around that. Present any ideas you come up with to your mom. By coming up with solutions on your own you will be showing that you are capable of taking responsibility for your work which may make her more likely to see things your way. Know Your Enemy, Where do you live? If you're in the US than the school does not have to agree with the choice to homeschool. You might want to join the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) and get some legal advice. It costs $100 a year but it is totally worth it.

Tell her you know that homeschooling is a big job. Tell her you know you can do well and having her as your teacher can make you understand things better. Tell her you will do your best and try to make things easy for her by reading all your lessons before hand. Tell her you will continue to socialize with your current friends and that you would also like to volunteer at a hospital or library, food bank or community service on your spare time. Tell her you want to graduate early and want to get your grades completed faster so you can go off to college to start a career in...........

How soon will this move happen? As a mom, I can see where your proposal just to be homeschooled for a short while might be why she is saying no. It is a lot of work in some states to set up a legal homeschool. And then there is the expense of buying educational materials. Add to that being in the middle of packing for a move, and for your parents, settling into a new job, homeschooling may just sound like way too much to take on for a short term commitment on your part. Now, if you propose to homeschool until you can go to college - and some teens start college about 15-16 at community colleges - then you may have a leg to stand on. There is a book written just for teens in your situation: The Teenage Liberation Handbook How to Quit School and Get a Real Life and Education http://www.amazon.com/dp/0962959170/?tag=gomilpit by Llewellyn, Grace Written primarily for teens who need to convince their parents they can teach themselves. You can buy it used on Amazon for under $10. Be forewarned: Llewellen's book tells YOU how to take on the responsibility of your own high school education, just relying on your parents for general support, financing, and transportation. You have the summer to read this book and to start taking control of your own education to prove you can do it! Go for it! Try your hardest to convince her that you'll learn more doing home school, you actually do in the long run, you can go ahead in one subject if your good, or you could spend a little more time on one if you need a little boost. And you wont get those nasty bugs that go around every year.

I don't think you should be home schooled because you become socially challenged. If you are smarter than the other students then try and get into a magnet program like my brother!!! He was so smart, the college let him take classes there too! There are options if you feel you are too smart for public school. You don't need to not have a childhood, teen-hood! I grew up way too fast and now miss the "little" things that I missed out on. You know YOU may not need OTHERS but OTHERS may need YOU!!! Everyone needs friends!
