Answer:
What you're explaining is not the normal home-schooling. You will have no direction. Who do you ask a question? Can you really program your time to spend a certain amount each day on the necessary subjects? Will your mom be home during the day? or will you be by yourself? I feel you are hiding something but I don't know what it is. Are you fighting with some kids at school? Are there some guys making unwanted advances? Is anyone pressuring you into drugs?goth?sex? You haven't given good enough reasons to basically drop out of school. My argument to her would be "Mom try me for 1 school quarter. If I don't make good grades, I'll go back to school full time."

One of the things we have to learn in life is this: we can't always convince someone else to see things from our point of view. Another thing we have to learn: we don't always get what we want. Especially from our parents. After 3 years, while the persistence is admirable, it's time to change your focus. What do you really want? What is the desire behind the homeschooling? Being able to work. Part of you somehow thinks that you'll end up spending all your money on clothes and school activities if you were still in school. Why? Buying clothes and school activities are things we choose to do. You can decide to put your money aside--perhaps leaving only a small portion for yourself. If you don't have the self-control to do that, how will you make sure you get your independent studies work done? Your second reason was that you learn better on your own. Focus on how you can set up such a scenario. Homeschooling is just ONE possibility. You could also try talking to the school to see if they would allow you "in-school" independent studies--you're on the premises, but doing your work on your own in the library or something. Or you could make sure to go do work during lunch time by yourself. You could also come home right after school and work by yourself. (Even let your mother see you working by yourself. Essentially, lead as much as you can the life you want to be living.

i was home schooled before and i hated it i missed my friends and i begged my mom to let me go back to public school. i was usually by myself. my mom assigned me my school work then i worked on it all day.if i had any questions i had to wait until she came home. i spent a lot of time by myself no one to talk to. it was very boring. you might be different than me though the things i consider boring and dull you might consider fun and exiting.

Unless you feel that your life is in danger. I say that your mom has the best point. High school is an awesome part of life. You have Homecoming, Prom, clubs, sports, friends, and extra curricular benefits to remaining in school. Not to mention that you will have a better opportunity for a social life and help with your studies. Homeschooling isn't all its cracked up to be. Everyone seems to think that its so simple. Earn credits by sitting in front of a computer a couple hours a day. But in reality there is more to it. Your mom would have to sign off on your curriculum which means she would have to basically be in control of you and your school work. You think your life is hard now, try not being able to get away from her for a couple of hours. Your better off just going to school. I'm not saying this just to side with your mom. You need to understand that homeschool is pretty controlling. You have to have a lot of self-discipline and really devote yourself to your studies. Do you get easily distracted? If the answer is Yes then imagine being home all day with the temptations of TV, Phone, Video Games, Good Weather, Internet, sleeping late and a dozen other things that will slowly slip into a higher priority than your school work.

well... i see your points, but staying in day school will bennefit you in the long run. colleges not only look at your accademics when concidering you for entry into their school, but they also look at the activites you have done in school, like the school paper, or sports. not only do they want the smart people in their school, but they want the people who can contribute something to their school. i'm sorry if i sound "against you", but some parents are stick in the muds and some dont want to attempt to understand their children, because they just dont feel like spending the time (i am NOT a parrent, i am 20 yrs old tho) to even get to know their kids. i hope you find a solution to your problem, or even a compromise.
