It might seem a bit off topic, but reading skills are important to early development. Here are some of my favorite books about reading and children: The Read-Aloud Handbook: Sixth Edition (Read-Aloud Handbook) by Jim Trelease How to Get Your Child to Love Reading: For Ravenous and Reluctant Readers Alike by Esmé Raji Codell It offers book and activity suggestions for all ages of children. She also has a website: www.planetesme.com They are both easy reads.

I really like Dr. Sears books... he has a whole library of books; he is a well respected pediatrician and father of 8. I also really like Brazelton books.

I have read many books on children. The BEST one I have read (Sorry to Maria Montessori) is How to Talk So Kids Will Listen and Listen So Kids Will Talk by Adele Faber http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?z=y&EAN=9780380811960&itm=1 Check it out on Barnes and Noble. 15 ratings ... average rating 5 stars. Read through them at the bottom of that page. Matt
